Scott Greenwood - Partner
Scott Greenwood joined Coffin Mew LLP from a London firm of Solicitors. Scott is an Partner in the firm’s Housing Management Litigation Team. He has extensive experience in Housing Management Litigation with a particular interest in cases involving ASB and Housing Management issues of a complex nature.
Scott and the team have a “can do” attitude and strongly believe in partnering the client in order to find the most suitable cost effective solution to housing management issues.
Scott has advised and represented a large number of registered social landlords in London, the South East and in the South and has an in depth knowledge as to how Housing Associations operate.
In particular he has been involved in a number of high profile anti social behaviour cases, which have included the closing down of crack houses, mental health and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. He has handled cases involving multiple Defendants. He has advised RSLs on a wide range of policies and procedures including reporting to RSLs in relation to Ombudsman cases.
Before taking up law, Scott spent ten years working in the public sector in Housing Advice and Welfare Benefit administration. He qualified as a solicitor in September 1997.
Prior to working in London, he spent two years in Birmingham, acting for a number of large Housing Associations, dealing with all areas of housing management litigation. It was during this time that he obtained the first anti social behaviour orders for Tamworth Borough Council and North Warwickshire Borough Council. Scott has also worked in-house for Norfolk County Council, advising on a wealth of areas including mental health and community care and also acting as the authority’s prosecutor.
As an experienced trainer, he has given many training sessions, seminars and workshops to a number of large Housing Associations and has appeared as a guest speaker at workshops and seminars for the Social Landlord Crime and Nuisance Group.
