- Wills : Making a Will enables you to: Ensure the assets in your estate pass to the people you would like to receive them. Leave your assets to your partner. Without a Will a partner will have to take legal action in order to receive any benefit from your estate. Leave property to friends or to a charity. Reduce or extinguish your tax liabilities in certain circumstances. Specify who you want to manage your affairs after your death (your Executors). Appoint a guardian to bring up your children.
- Trusts : "A trust" is a relationship that is recognised and enforceable in the courts. A trust may arise by a declaration of trust, a will or settlement, and put simply, a Trust is a way in which a person can give any kind of property to benefit others without them having control over what happens to that property. The terms of the Trust (which is usually set up by a trust deed during lifetime or by Will on death) will dictate who can benefit from the property transferred to it and in what circumstances – for example, children when they reach a specified age.
- Tax Planning : Tax Planning: If an individual’s estate is valued over £325,000 when he or she dies, inheritance tax (“IHT”) will be payable at 40% on the amount by which that figure is exceeded.
- Administration of Estates : When a person dies, someone has to deal with their affairs and decide what will happen to the things they owned. ‘Probate’ is a term commonly used when talking about applying for the right to deal with a deceased person’s affairs (called ‘administering the estate’).
- Assistance to the Elderly : At Coffin Mew we can provide a full service tailored to the needs of elderly clients. We understand your concerns and your wishes.
- Lasting Powers of Attorney : A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to appoint someone you trust as your Attorney to make important decisions and sign on your behalf, either immediately, if you so wish, or only if you become mentally or physically incapable of doing so yourself.

- PC Ebrief Where theres a will : One of the things that can put people off making a will is the legal language and outdated style that often goes with them. So we’ve updated our wills to make them more readable and user-friendly - they even have punctuation!
- PC Ebrief Keeping your dirty laundry clean : The popularity of social networking sites like Facebook has had their own impact on our Family team, who have seen a huge increase in couples referring to their partners actions on Facebook and other social networking sites like Friends Reunited as the reason for the marriage breakdown.
- PC Ebrief Bank of Mum and Dad : If you would know the value of money, go and try to borrow some, so said 6th US President Benjamin Franklin. What he should have said was ‘go try borrow some from anyone other than your parents!’
- PC Ebrief Expect the unexpected... : After 20 years of delivering good client service you tend to build up a lot of good examples of how and how not to do it. In my experience delivery depends on anticipating a client’s needs - knowing the law and how it applies to them, how to explain it easily and always being ready for the unexpected.

- Domiciliary Care : Care at home is becomingly an increasingly important part of the healthcare landscape. With people living longer, bringing with it heightened long term care requirements, personal care and other practical household tasks become a much harder daily task for the elderly.
- GP Practices : In this ever-changing world, GPs are being asked to take on many more responsibilities to deliver round the clock healthcare to service users. Whether working as a Consortia, Partnerships or individual Practices, agreements and frameworks need to be flexible to be able to adapt to these increasing pressures.

- Elderly and Vulnerable : With the elderly and vulnerable consistently in the media spotlight, it appears that their particular needs are often sadly overlooked by some authorities. Far from being held in the esteem that they deserve, many reports indicate that all too often care comes down to availability of funding – by whatever means.
- Supporting Injured People : We have helped many people from all walks of life not only gain the just and fair compensation they deserve, but also access the rehabilitation assistance needed to make the best medical, social and psychological recovery.

- Wealth Management : Our accredited team prides itself on providing our clients with comprehensive, understandable, highly relevant advice both for the present and the future. We will support you in all aspects of managing your wealth, including estate and tax planning, business succession, charitable giving, trusts and asset protection.
- How will the CQC monitor compliance? : Following completion of the registration exercise earlier this month, providers of dental services in England and Wales will now be shifting their attention to continued compliance with the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety.
- Safeguarding Patient Information : The records that Dentists maintain about their patients have always been covered by Data Protection Requirements. These requirements will dovetail with the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety which will form part of the new CQC regime. It is therefore important that, to avoid fines, and possibly a loss of registration, that all practitioners meet these requirements.
