New Trainee Solicitors join Coffin Mew

Four new Trainee Solicitors, Rachel Kimber, Georgina Burrows, Laura Lyons and Kate Tyers (see photo above), have joined the firm. 

Laura Lyons has already worked in the busy New Homes Property team at Coffin Mew for three years and during this time has gained enormous client contact and experience in dealing with a highly pressurised environment. Laura studied law at the University of Lincoln with a 2:1 and gained her LPC (Legal Practice Course) at the Guildford College of Law. Outside of work she enjoys martial arts and boxing although to relax she loves long walks, photography as well as volunteer work at a care home for the elderly. 

Georgina Burrows studied law at the University of Southampton with a 2:1 and went on to gain her LPC at the College of Law in Bristol. She has been most recently working with a specialist probate company managing a range of estate administration cases. She is a keen horse rider and represented the University of Southampton at inter-university competitions. Georgina gained a professional qualification from the British Horse Society and is currently working towards becoming qualified as an assistant instructor. She also enjoys skiing. 

Rachel Kimber also studied law at the University of Southampton gaining a first class degree; and gained her LPC at the Guildford College of Law. Rachel has most recently had work experience at JPMorgan Chase in the Investment Banking Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime team reviewing and analysing client information – ensuring due diligence was carried out and regulatory requirements met. She is a keen sportswoman and participates in dance and skiing when time permits. 

 Kate Tyers studied law at University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a 2:1 and went on to gain her LPC at the College of Law in Guildford. Over the last year she has been working in the banking industry most recently redressing payment protection insurance claims on behalf of a leading UK banking group. Whilst undertaking this work Kate was formally recognised for maintaining a high quality of service by her employer. Outside of work she likes to keep fit by running, going to the gym and taking part in exercise classes and has a passion for travel and exploring different cultures.
